In Vegas. Been here for the last week, for BlackHat and DEFCON. Unlike two years ago, this year's DEFCON was exciting and educational -- the badges this year are circuit boards with a 5x19 LED matrix on the front and a Freescale microcontroller on the back, and there was a contest to hack the badge's hardware and firmware. We built a simple VU meter using the microcontroller's analog-to-digital converter, got a rap group from Michigan to lay down a track for us, rigged the whole thing to an iPod shuffle and a set of external speakers, and we won. Boo fuckin' yah!
