I ran across the phrase "serial adder" today, and discovered that apparently in social-networking-site parlance, it describes a person who adds completely random people to their friends list. Apparently this really annoys some people, possibly a lot of people. I have no idea why.
Armed with the knowledge that Wikipedia is sometimes a source of helpful information about cultural phenomena which have passed me by, I looked, and discovered that no, it's okay, really, a serial adder is just a simple three-input, two-output digital device which reads two binary digits and a carry bit and outputs a result bit and a carry bit. And all was right with the world.
You knew that "bit" is a contraction of "binary digit", right? Well, you certainly do now.
In other news, have not made it to SHDH yet today. Should probably, but might not, as it ends early tonight. Stupid days where I just don't feel like leaving the house.
