Dept. of Damn It All To Hell:
Anime Central is the weekend I graduate. Curse that lousy timing! I've got family coming up on Thursday and staying through Saturday, though I don't know exactly when on Saturday. Admittedly, Chicago is only four hours away, and I graduate at something like two in the afternoon on Friday, but that's still really annoying.
Takeshi Honda! (Lead animator for Evangelion, for those of you not in the know.) Drool, drool, drool. I should wear my Asuka plugsuit and get him to autograph my butt with a Sharpie marker.

Dept. of Who Knew It Would Be That Easy?:
ernunnos and
pjammer will get a kick out of this one, I'm sure.
Feb. 23rd is the day of the UI Cultural Diversity Festival. Ethnic food in steam tables, traditional dances, all that sort of stuff. But this year, things are going to be just a little less politically correct.
Why, you ask? Because the university's target shooting/gun advocacy club is putting together a table promoting the gun culture. I can't wait for all the dirty looks we're sure to get. :) Actually, we were expecting to catch some flak from the Office of Student Life (along the lines of "That's not a culture!"), but I turned in the paperwork today and nobody raised an eyebrow. We're raffling off two prizes -- one half-hour shooting lesson and one hour-long lesson, ammunition and range fees paid for by the club -- and the only question the organizer people asked was where the range was and how the winner would get there. (We'll drive them.) Diversity Festival organizers who aren't rabid liberals? The devil you say!

Dept. of And Now, The Weather:
It's been snowing most of the day. Earlier it was freezing rain, and now it's huge squishy snowflake clusters. The roads are full of slush. Colin, if you're reading this, please drive safely.
