This is one of the pieces that my younger sister Britt made recently. I saw it on my mom's bookshelf when I was home for Christmas, and thought it was something made of cast-iron that they'd bought at a store. Nope! It's glazed clay, though I don't know what kind, and she made it all by herself.

For the last year and a half, my parents have been offering to buy her a kiln so that she can work out of the house instead of having to take ceramics classes. Yesterday, I learned that she's finally taken them up on that offer. I'm incredibly stoked for her, even though I do wish she'd taken them seriously long ago. ;)
